Above is the Mission Statement of the Erie-based Company “The Way to Healthy Living”. Selina Uglow is a coach and counselor and will help you find a better way to live a healthy lifestyle. She felt the need to change her way of living after being handed life-impacting news. She received a new outlook on life and used that passion to help others in the community. “The Way to Healthy Living” has a great hands-on approach when it comes to teaching their patrons how to become healthier and stronger individuals. They have learned many ways of helping people to achieve their goals, whether that be changing their lifestyle, to fulfillment in other aspects of their lives, such as starting new careers and helping people find their passions. Their approach to a healthy way of living is planned out, step by step, on their wonderful website. There are four different parts of their healthy living program. These four steps are (1) R.E.A.L Wellness Weight Loss, (2) Personalized Fitness & Classes, (3) Workshop & Programs, and (4) Wellness Coaching & Counseling. Altogether, this is a program designed to help in every part of your life, and rebuild to become the person who have always wanted to be.
R.E.A.L Wellness Weight Loss
Real Food. Exercise. Accountability. Lifestyle. As you can see, this portion of the programs is focused on changing your overall habits as opposed to promising quick results that most companies use that usually involves crash dieting and/or fasting. Apart of this portion, members will receive a six-week hands on cooking lesson and a 12-week R.E.A.L Wellness Workbook. These cooking lessons are made to show members just how simple and easy it is to cook and eat food/meals that are healthy, filling, and delicious—turning the head on how healthy foods are supposedly unfulfilling and bland. It’s time to make eating healthy fun again.
Personalized Fitness & Classes
When it comes to the fitness classes, patrons can either choose to do private or group fitness and during this time, patrons will be granted full access to Total Body Fitness. The way they take on fitness, it is not really about working as hard as possible for a certain amount of time. Their approach is more focused on getting your body moving and enjoying what you are doing. They don’t want exercise to be tormenting in any way. And if the gym is not your thing, they can even give you great exercises that can be done in the comfort of your home.
Workshops & Programs
These workshops and programs are meant to help you in your daily life. They are teaching ways of “renewing the spirit of wellness”, overcoming the barriers of exercise, better stress-coping mechanisms and cooking strategies. The counselors and trainers at “The Way to Healthy Living” call this portion the Bread N’ Butter of wellness. In order to truly be healthy, it takes more than just exercising and eating right, your attitude and mindset also has to go through a transformation. Selina Uglow (LPN, CPT), Elizabeth darling (DPT, OCS, CLT, ATC), Chef Billy, and Denise Jewel (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist) are all there to help you change your life from the inside out.
Wellness Coaching & Counseling
The last part of the program is all about how you are feeling mentally. As their website says, “A healthy life is one that you learn to be well within.” The support of the staff, like therapist Denise Jewel and Counselor Selina Uglow, are there to help you achieve your goals. Trying to find things that work for you can be extremely difficult to go on and do by yourself. Denise Jewel and Selina Uglow are there for you, every step of the way. All they want to do is to see you succeed in every aspect of your life, not just health and wellness.
